City of Baxter
Home MenuStormwater
Stormwater is rain or snowmelt that does not soak into the ground because it falls on hard surfaces such as buildings, streets, parking lots and other impervious surfaces. This stormwater travels across these surfaces collecting dirt, debris and chemicals that are carried directly into our lakes, streams and rivers without treatment.
To minimize storm water pollution, the City of Baxter has a stormwater management system which consists of many elements, including storm sewer pipes, catch basins, manholes, culverts, stormwater ponds, swales and open ditches.
